Very little information was been released after the announcement that Jack Black had closed the deal to star in Robert Letterman's adaption of R.L. Stine's insanely popular book series, until now. It looks as if Israeli actress Odeya Rush has grabbed the young female lead opposite Black, in the upcoming adaption. A release date has yet to be confirmed.

Some insight into the characters the two actors will portray via The Wrap, "Black will play Mr. Shivers, a Stine-like author whose scary characters literally leap off the page, forcing him to hide from his own creepy creations. Rush will play Black’s quirky and mysterious niece, who teams up with her young male neighbor to battle the monsters unleashed from Mr. Shivers’ works."
