After the Jobs, starring Ashton Kutcher, became a box office disaster, making $35 million world-wide, it comes as a surprise to see Sony already beginning on another Steve Jobs based movie.Though the movie is in early stages Sony has already tapped director David Fincher, The Social Network, to helm this project. Early reports indicate that this was done in order to attract a more A-list crowd.
This new bio-pic, unlike its predecessor, will be based on Walter Isaacson's best selling biography about the late Apple founder. The script has been penned by Oscar-winner Aaron Sorkin, who would be joining Fincher along with producer Scott Rudin from The Social Network. Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady wil also be joining on as producers.
"Fincher is a notoriously picky director who can go years between film projects. He last directed Sony’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which Rudin produced. Though the film was well received and earned more than $200 million worldwide, it never spawned a second and third chapter, as originally planned."
